Nissan: 1.5 Million Clean Cars By 2016

href=”http://www.earthtechling.com/tag/nissan/”>Nissan Motors href=”http://www.nissan-global.com/EN/NEWS/2011/_STORY/111024-01-e.html”>has announced an ambitious six-year environmental plan that includes being the no. 1 seller of zero emission vehicles. The Nissan Green Program 2016 will focus in three areas including: reduction of carbon footprint, shift to href=”http://www.earthtechling.com/topics/renewable-energy/”>renewable energy and an increase in the diversity of resources used by Nissan.
Under the plan, the car maker aims to have cumulative sales of 1.5 million units of href=”http://www.earthtechling.com/tag/electric-cars/”>zero-emission vehicles by 2016 across the Renault-Nissan Alliance. Nissan, along with its strategic partner, Daimler, is intent on leading the development of an all new fuel cell electric vehicle.
