Navigating and Reporting ESG Data
Compliance Week reports on growing investor interest and challenges companies face in responding to ESG ratings, and on how SustainAbility’s Rate the Raters research project is attempting to create more clarity and quality in this fast-evolving field. SustainAbility Vice President and Rate the Raters research director Michael Sadowski is quoted on what Rate the Raters has uncovered so far, and on strategies for companies to recognize and perform well in the best ratings.
From the article:
SustainAbility has been collaborating with companies and raters to discuss what useful, high-quality ratings would look like. The group is also exploring “big sticky questions,” Sadowski said, such as whether raters can also be consultants (a possible conflict of interest), and how raters can be more transparent without giving away commercially important information.
